What we ask

Our expectations of volunteers

Respect boundaries

Volunteers do not investigate concerns, confront individuals or take on responsibilities that belong to trained professionals.

Complete vetting

Depending on the role, volunteers may be required to complete references, appropriate checks and safeguarding training.

Protect confidentiality

Information shared with NESN must be handled sensitively, lawfully and only shared where appropriate.

Escalate appropriately

Concerns are passed to the right professional or statutory service rather than managed informally.
